Currently he is serving as the Vice-Chair of IEEE Electron Devices Society/Solid-state Circuits Society Bangladesh Chapter and also as the Organizing Secretary of the upcoming 4th IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP) 2021.Amra 92 Foundation is raising funds for Mohammad Mainur Rahman (Shuvo), a BUET student from HSC ‘92. Zunaid received the BUET Forum 86 Research Excellence Award in recognition of his research accomplishments in the field of Electronics, Photonics and Nanotechnology. ![]() Currently he leads his Solid-state Electronics and Photonics (SSEP) research group in BUET, which explores both theoretical and experimental aspects related to the design, fabrication and characterization of novel electronic, optoelectronic, photonic and spintronic devices and systems. Instead of going into too much technical details, the speaker aims to discuss in simple terms the disordered photonics related findings of his research group – in particular how they have been trying to predict, if not control, the behavior of light in complex random media. ![]() In this talk on disordered photonics, the speaker would like to share how his experience of working with self-organized nanowires inspired him to get into this fascinating field of research. Research in this area over the recent years has encouraged theoretical propositions, as well as experimental demonstrations of diversified applications related to lasing, energy harvesting, imaging and sensing. Disordered photonics is an exciting area of photonic research which explores the complex behavior of light in random or disordered media. ![]()
